Bryan: Possible guild idea
I thought about an assassin's guild in a big city that poses as another kind of guild. They knock off higher ups, do really specialized jobs and are only accessible to the wealthy. I wrote a short story about something like that...

The two that I have are the hunter's guild with the two halls that the wealthy do pay for, and the ninja guild, which is more like a small government on its own far from the city. They make their own calls on morality, etc.
I was thinking about a information broker/crime organization that goes really high up and knows everything.
Synn originally pioneered this idea, and it could probably even take out the king and arrange who would take his place, if needed.
